Our kitchen renovations are so very close to being complete, and we will finally be able to move on back upstairs and actually live in daylight again. Since we've been in transition for so long, I can't wait to finally be able to decorate our new space, and actually have people over. Playdates, dinner parties, cooking parties... the possibilities are endless. Here are some of my favorite accessories to brighten up and warm our space.

Nothing like a good old fashioned picnic to end the week. How we can go from snowstorm to sunny, picnic weather from one week to another is beyond me, but this is Calgary. I even got a sunburn the other day from a morning spent at the park. I hope you enjoy this weeks finds, and of course the warmer weather.

Hoping for spring weather to finally come as we just had another snow storm this week (ugh!), in May, no less. My mind is set on trading in my just a little too big, slouched over, mountain bike, for an upright, and comfortable city bike. Cruising through the local parks, down the river pathway, and to run errands is not only eco friendly while keeping you in shape, but also brings back the feelings of freedom & joy of riding a bike as a child. Happy Cruising!
21 speed, upright bicycle that has extra squishy tires & comfy seat.
Great for cruising as well as plowing up the hills of the city.
Wicked hoodie with cutaway hood for visibility and extra long length to prevent any unwanted flashing of the behind. Looks stylish too. Check out her line of cycling wear made for the urban biker.
Designed to fit snug under your bike helmet to keep your head nice & warm, perfect for our cool mornings and evenings.

We've just booked a quaint little cabin in a remote area of BC for a summer, weeklong getaway. As I sit here, in the middle of a snowstorm, at the end of April, no less, I can't help but think about how relaxing this time will be. No electricity, no TV, not much to do but bring a few books, perhaps some knitting, and enjoy the surrounding nature. This little cabin is my inspiration to today's finds.

There's nothing more satisfying than seeing an old object, given a new life in the most creative way. Luckily, the etsy community has alot of talented artisans who do just that. Here are a few of my favorites.

With the lull in sales that we've been expecting as the weather warms up, we're busy satisfying some fibre cravings by indulging in some spinning. Inspired by the beautiful thick and thin spun yarn from fiberstory, I dusted off my old drop spindle and gave her a whirl.
When the roving stash ran out, I couldn't stop spinning, so I dove into my gigantic stash and dug out some yarn that was less than inspiring. Plying for the first time, the spinning was not only super quick, but also meditative. Watch out stash...I'm coming for you!
